Each artist produced an initial plate that was sent to their collaborating partner for further surface and conceptual additions, and then returned for completion. The assembly of printmakers-eight from the north, eight from the south-produced two prints from each collaboration. Nevada artists live on different sides of a geographical divide, however those lines are drawn.Ĭalling upon the printmaker’s sense of community, the sixteen artists featured in Geographical Divides: Finding Common Ground were invited to join in a series of collaborations that would explore these geographical and cultural differences in Nevada, if such differences truly exist. This traversal of Nevada has also led to the realization of how little dialogue there is between artists of the two dominant communities-Reno and Las Vegas-not to mention the artists living in remote territories of the Nevada outback that are sometimes overlooked. There are notable differences among artists throughout the state in what is important in their work, most of which connects with where they live. Nevada’s art communities are not separated by distance of travel alone. It is comprised of two major metropolitan communities- in the north and south- divided by 300 miles of vast desert. It is a state labeled with cultural myths like “Area 51,” “The Biggest Little City in the World” and “Sin City” and one that commands the imagination of Postmodernism from the architecture of Las Vegas to the proliferation of Burning Man Festival held once a year. To ride on the growth curve, a company must have its cash flow increasing because that indicates management’s efficiency in regulating its cash movements and less dependency on outside financing for running its business. However, having a positive cash flow merely does not secure a company’s future growth. On the other hand, a negative cash flow indicates a decline in the company’s liquidity, which in turn lowers its flexibility to support these moves. If a company is experiencing a positive cash flow, it denotes an increase in its liquid assets, which gives it the means to meet debt obligations, shell out for expenses, reinvest in the business, endure downturns and finally return wealth to shareholders. While in any business cash moves in and out, it is net cash flow that explains how much money a company is actually generating. The additional gear train increases the speed of the lightning chronograph seconds by sixfold compared to the conventional running seconds. The similarities to Rolex’s Cosmograph Daytona were much-remarked upon when it came out last year, but if you’re going to be compared to one watch, it may as well be that. With the clasped seconds hand relocated from the centre to the three o’clock register – resulting in the loss of an hour counter – the central seconds hand now fulfils a new function – it makes one revolution every 10 seconds, or six rotations per minute, to allow pinpoint reading of elapsed times with a resolution of 1/10th of a second via the scale on the ceramic bezel. The El Primero 3600 is certainly an impressive upgrade and a completely different animal compared to the original El Primero. Now that the vintage remakes have reached their end with the final instalment announced just recently, the new movement can take the stage.
